Evergreen Affiliate Marketing

When I first got started, I needed something to sell. I didn’t have any sales experience and the internet marketing thing was new to me.

I heard about affiliate marketing, and that is how I got started. As I mentioned in another post, there are a lot of affiliates who are promoting product launch type of products. That is where a product is released on a specific date, and the price is low for a few days.

After that the price goes way up, and then along comes another batch of launches that are getting all of the attention. When you market these products, you always have to create new campaigns.

With evergreen products, you can set up your review pages, emails, and other promotional methods up and use them for months or even years. You do the work once, and you can let it run.

One of the sites that I really like for this is Clickbank. There are a lot of categories to choose from, and commissions of 50 percent are easy to find. You can find products that are sold on a monthly basis, so you promote once and get paid regularly until a customer cancels.

Many of the vendors on Clickbank have graphics, email swipes, and other promotional materials that you can add to your site to help you create professional sales pieces.

Many Niches To Choose From

  • Home and Garden
  • Health and Fitness
  • Self-Help
  • Computers/Internet
  • Parenting and Families
  • Betting Systems
  • Software and Services
  • Many, Many More...

Once you select a category, you can drill down to sub-categories to find even more opportunities.

Clickbank is my favorite because you can sign up for free, and just about everyone gets accepted right away. So you are just minutes away from signing up and getting your own affiliate link.

As I already mentioned, the thing I like about Clickbank is that you get paid a good commission, there are a lot of categories and markets to choose from, and you are promoting products that have a track record of making sales.

When you are trying to decide which products to sell, do your research. The first thing I do is a search on the product name. I want to see how many sites are on the first 2 pages of the search results.

If there are only 2 or 3, it may be a good product to go with. If the first 2 pages are loaded with results, that means that the product is probably selling well, which is a good thing. But the bad part is that it makes it more difficult to get your site on the first 2  pages.

When you find that there is room for you on the first 2 pages of the search results, you can head over to one of the free keyword tools and see if there are many searches on that product name. If so, you may have found an opportunity. If not, then maybe that’s why there isn’t much competition.

This research is good if you are going to rely on a review site and free search engine traffic. If you’re going to be using paid advertising or your email list, it may not matter as much.

With paid advertising, a danger is paying more for the traffic than you make in commissions. As a new marketer, if you decide to go that route, keep an eye on your budget so you don’t end up in a hole.

There are so many products available that you should be able to find something that you find appealing. Promoting evergreen affiliate products is a lot less stressful for me. Maybe you like the energy of promoting  product launches.

There’s no right or wrong way. At the end of the day, what matters is that you are making money doing whatever it is that you like to do.
